Tired But Unbowed

Famous Guardian-reader Laban Tall has kindly praised this blog for its election coverage, but I am a bit perplexed at his use of the Grauniad as his authority on the Tories' success over the immigration issue. It seems to me, as I argued earlier (and, Laban, I have had some sleep since then!) that this was an unwinding of anti-Tory voting in Tory heartlands. For that to be the only effect of a massively distrusted Government's re-election seems worthy of the epithets I described. The idea that immigration was responsible for their tiny gains seems something plucked out of mid-air by those self-hating white liberals at the Grauniad who Laban so loves. ;-)

Now, I am off to put £10 on David Davies.
